At last! Claude Marchal has formed a striking duo with Bertrand Duchaufour for this occasion and has delivered a chypre with "leathery" echoes. A trail fragrance, it delicately powders on the skin and revives the great tradition of chypres with a little patina "à la Duchaufour" of candied fruits, and a rare complexity of the base notes.... for a 10/10 in hold. Head: "Green Aldheydée", Hyacinth, Cistus, Galbanum; an aromatic hint of thyme and lavender; with a rather delicate and elusive start of clementine. Heart : Floral for a true chypre (rose) with a rather discreet bouquet of white flowers around jasmine and gardenia. On the palate an impression of "skin" with notes of plum, with echoes of lipstick where a beautiful iris shines. Base: Of great finesse; animal, "leathery",powdery, it evolves a lot which is already an invitation to try it. Benzoin, vanilla (leather) and yet very powdery. The base is also warm with immortelle and so carnal with notes of castoreum; without forgetting a touch of oakmoss, essential for this true "chypre" which is between tradition and avant-garde. Our verdict: Very material, it is a very dressed and opulent perfume at first impression and excessively fine on the bottom. A huge favourite for lovers of beautiful materials.
