Ricinus, the castor oil plant, is a plant of extraordinary beauty which, like all the most beautiful things, conceals a hidden and fatal soul. This marvelous, ornamental plant, full of variegated colors and attractive fruits, capable of blooming the whole year round, was used by Lucrezia to decorate her gardens, that acted above all as secret refuges for its fearsome poison, masterfully hidden in the seeds of their attractive fruits. The fatal beauty of the plant was an inspiration for the secret plans of Lucrezia, who particularly loved this powerful poison because it left no way out for her victims.
